Most Miamians agree that the worst thing about Art Basel coming to town is all that damn traffic. More people plus more events equal more cars trying to get to more places. It’s a frustrating but sort of unavoidable predicament the 305 finds itself in at least a few times a year.

In Wynwood, though, pedestrians will find a slight relief from dodging Ubers and honking horns. Wynwood’s Second Ave—its main strip—will be closed to cars and become a pedestrian-only street for a few days. Starting Friday, December 7 through Sunday, December 9, cars won’t be allowed to drive from 20th Street to 29th Street along NW Second Ave. Feels good, doesn’t it?

This isn’t the first time Wynwood has done this during Miami Art Week. And it’s worked out nicely in past years so the tradition continues. Live it up while you can, Wynwood. Those tires will be back soon enough.
