The 2019 James Beard Award Nominees are in! Among the list of distinguished chefs and restaurants is Wynwood’s very own Brad Kilgore for “Best Chef: South.”
Chef Brad Kilgore leads award-winning Wynwood restaurant Alter, named one of the best new restaurants in America by Eater. This is the chef’s third year nominated for a James Beard Award. He has previously been nominated for “Rising Star of the Year” and was the only South Florida chef in 2018 to advance as a finalist in the category of “Best Chef: South.” Alter serves seasonal cuisine with locally-sourced ingredients, highlighting the rich seafood, fruits, vegetables and meats of Florida.
The Wynwood BID congratulates chef Kilgore for this distinct honor, the latest representation of the district’s prominence as Miami’s dining destination. Along with Kilgore’s prize-winning fare, Wynwood is home to dozens of eateries from Three, led by Beard Award-winning chef Norman Van Aken, to KYU, Time Magazine’s best FL restaurant.
