GROUNDBREAKING UNBOUND FESTIVAL ARRIVES IN MIAMI

The global event series celebrating corporate innovation and connecting grassroots entrepreneurial communities makes its US debut this November

MIAMI, Fla. – October 12, 2017 – This November 1 & 2, innovation festival unbound will bring its globally established platform to Mana Wynwood, Miami, gathering 100+ future-focused speakers, immersive brand experiences, pitch sessions and startup battles. The international global event series celebrates innovation by showcasing the best grassroots technology and reflects the incredible opportunity for South Florida as an innovation hub for the entire Latin America region. Chaired by Israeli entrepreneur and investor Yossi Vardi, the two-day festival will unite the finest minds in fintech, adtech, AI, healthtech, eCommerce, robotics and more, to make invaluable connections, discover inspirational insight and emerging technologies that will shape the future.

Since launching in 2012, unbound has been the preeminent forum for connecting brands and corporations with grassroots startups and the cutting-edge technology that they offer. Organizations use unbound festivals to build their own platforms, connect with key audience members, and deliver their strategic objectives. For startups, festivals are the opportunity to meet individuals crucial to their future success: investors, clients and partners. Anchored by its annual festivals in London and Singapore, Miami has been carefully selected as the third festival added to its distinguished roster.

The Miami festival has assembled a prestigious lineup of speakers (from VICE Media, Twitter and Slack to Marriott, VISA and Johnson & Johnson), sessions, and partners that set this event apart from any other taking place in South Florida.

ProColombia will be using unbound Miami as a platform for its annual Colombia Bring IT On campaign, bringing together 120 Latin American startups to meet brand and corporate decision makers in Miami with experience in mobile applications, digital animation, video games, digital marketing and IT solutions.

“We are thrilled to announce this partnership with unbound, which looks to maximize innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship in this new setting. With unbound breaking ground in the Americas, the best ally is Colombia, and Bring IT On will be a unique opportunity to connect entrepreneurs with companies from all around the world, including Canada, Mexico, US and the Caribbean,” added President of ProColombia Felipe Jaramillo.

In addition, unbound Miami will present the Female Founders Startup Challenge, which will see eight female founders battle for access to a place on the Babson College Women Innovating Now (WIN) Lab program. Claro Americas, will also be hosting a startup battle to showcase the best innovations in the areas of Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and ecommerce, among others. The winner will have the chance to visit the company’s facilities in Guatemala.

Daniel Seal, Founder & CEO of unbound, comments: “Miami has been chosen as our first US destination given it is commonly known as the ‘gateway to the Americas,’ bridging the gap for Latin American entrepreneurs and connecting them to decision makers in the US, while raising them to a worldwide stage. Additionally, South Florida is also known for its thriving entrepreneurial community which has seen a rise in interest from venture capitalist firms, funds, and angel investors from across the globe. This makes it a premier destination for the unveiling of the first unbound festival in the Americas.”

The British Consulate in Miami has also extended its support for unbound. “Growth of the digital economy is a critical catalyst for wider economic growth, and unbound’s mission of connecting established and international brands with disruptive grassroots companies is an incredible opportunity for all those taking part and beyond,” said David Prodger, British Consul General in Miami.

Likewise, the Wynwood Business Improvement District (BID), an organization made up of 400-plus local property owners in the Wynwood Arts District, is pleased to welcome unbound to Miami’s most creative, accessible and forward-thinking neighborhood. “Wynwood and the greater South Florida community are home to a growing number of tech start-ups and businesses that are driving innovation throughout the Americas,” said Albert Garcia, Wynwood BID Vice Chairman. “We are excited unbound selected Wynwood as their third global destination to host this prestigious conference.”
