RasTerms

Ras Terms, also known as James Monk, is a multifaceted artist with a background in Puerto Rican and Colombian heritage. Growing up in Miami, Florida, he began his artistic journey at a young age, starting with coloring and evolving into graffiti at just 11 years old. Ras Terms is recognized for his mastery in letter art, often referred to as a "letter master" and a "builder of letters," and he combines his spiritual influences with vibrant, dynamic visuals.

As a spiritual artist, Ras Terms emphasizes messages of peace, unity, love, and fun, while his style continues to evolve. His work spans graffiti, street art, and more contemporary abstract forms, blending ancient cultural references such as Kemetic art, Rastafarian, and Yoruba arts. He believes in the universal creative force that transcends judgment and acts as a constant truth in life.

Inspired by Steve Jobs' philosophy of "Stay hungry. Stay foolish," Ras Terms now focuses on more contemporary themes, often incorporating humor into his art. His work, which has grown beyond Miami and the Bay Area, is seen on a global scale—featured in murals, exhibitions, clothing, and more. As a traveling artist, he collaborates with other creatives and views his art as a means of embedding transformative imagery into our collective subconscious.
