Patrick “KANE” McGregor

A Master of Murals and Canine Portraiture...
Patrick “Kane” McGregor’s journey into art began with graffiti and billboard painting, where he mastered large-scale murals and developed a meticulous work ethic. In the early ‘90s, while working under mentor Art Pastusak in the billboard industry, he painted a Nike mural in Philadelphia—an experience that solidified his path as a professional artist.

Over the years, McGregor transitioned from advertising work to painting what he loves most—dogs. His signature vibrant, large-scale canine portraits are inspired by his own pets, particularly his bulldog Boug, who first sparked this artistic direction in 2006. Using a mix of oils, spray paint, and house paint, he brings a unique energy and depth to his work.

One of his biggest creative challenges was unlearning the rigid precision of advertising art, allowing himself to paint with more freedom and spontaneity. Today, McGregor is dedicated to creating bold, expressive dog portraits while balancing artistic passion with financial sustainability. At 50, he feels close to his ultimate goal: painting what he loves while making a meaningful impact in the art world.
