Wynwood has something else to brag about.
The artsy Miami district was recently named as one of TripAdvisor’s top hipster neighborhoods in the US.
The online travel and restaurant company looked at 14 hip hangouts that “boast their own bohemian street cred.” Factors in the round up include the number independent coffee shops, farmers markets, microbreweries and how Instagram-friendly the place is. Although the list wasn’t ranked numerically, Wynwood sits at the top.
TripAdvisor described the graffiti-filled warehouse district as “dotted with some of the best breweries, pop-up shops, and dance venues Miami has to offer, this once-industrial district has been transformed by colorful murals.”
TripAdvisor also highlighted the Wynwood Art Walk and the Wynwood Graffiti Golf Cart Tour as a way to to experience the neighborhood which looks like a colorful gritty open-air gallery.
Other shout-outs include sampling the “ales at Wynwood Brewing Company, Miami’s first microbrewery,” and trying the shrimp tacos “with an extra serving of the signature guac” at Coyo Taco.
Wynwood was the only Florida neighborhood on TripAdvisor’s list. Other notable neighborhoods such as East Nashville, Fishtown in Philadelphia, North Park in San Diego and East Austin in Austin. Check out the full list here.
