Tell us a bit about your business – the concept, what you sell and what makes you unique.
Veza Sur is a Latin-inspired brewery in the heart of the Wynwood Arts District. We opened in the summer of 2017 with the goal of being a hub for locals and travelers alike to come together and enjoy great beer in an open, inviting atmosphere that embraces Miami’s vibrant Latino roots. All of our beers go perfectly with Miami’s hot climate, and use fruits native to Latin America like lulo, guava, and mango in some of our beers. In addition to our sessionable brews, we also serve a number of house-made beer cocktails like Micheladas, Arroz Con Flan, and the Tremendo Arroz Con Mango.
Why did you choose to open your business in Wynwood, as opposed to another Miami neighborhood?
Wynwood is one of the most creative neighborhoods in the world and is constantly pushing the envelope, especially in the food and beverage world. When I first visited the neighborhood I knew it was the perfect community to showcase our eclectic beers as well as feature local musical talent at our taproom and beer garden. We can’t imagine Veza Sur being born anywhere else!
What does a typical day at Veza Sur look like?
Everyday at Veza Sur is different from the last, whether we’re brewing or brainstorming a new beer, coming up with new beer cocktails or hosting an event – there is always something happening in and out of the pub. What never changes is our chill vibes and laid back atmosphere!
What’s your favorite Wynwood spot to visit?
If I’m not drinking beer at Veza Sur, my favorite spot is probably Gramps! There’s always something fun going on there, the staff is super laid back and inviting, and their pizza is killer. Not to mention they usually have a Veza Sur tap where I can enjoy one of our beers.
