Business Spotlight: The Taco Stand

The Taco Stand

Wynwood is home to many unique restaurants, retailers and services. The Taco Stand serves Mexican-inspired fare that adds to Wynwood’s reputation as a top foodie destination.

Business address: 313 NW 25th Street, Miami, FL 33127

Tell us a bit about your business – the concept, what you sell and what makes you unique.

The Taco Stand first opened in La Jolla, California in 2013, and since then we’ve opened locations in Downtown San Diego, Encinitas, North Park and Miami with Orange County and Las Vegas Taco Stand’s coming soon. We serve Mexican street fare inspired by our Baja roots with a fun twist – think: tacos with flavorful meats and made-to-order tortillas, super-stuffed burritos, and inventive loaded fries.

Why did you choose to open your business in Wynwood, as opposed to another Miami neighborhood?

Wynwood is one of the most well-known neighborhoods in the world right now, and filled with so much creativity and diversity. We wanted to give the neighborhood a casual spot with great food that people can come to at any time of the day – whether that be breakfast, lunch, dinner or a post-happy hour bite.

What does a typical day at The Taco Stand look like?

The kitchen is very open at The Taco Stand, so guests can always expect to see someone at our tortilla station making the tortillas for our tacos, and the vertical spit spinning pork that’s perfect for al pastor. The crowds really swarm during lunch with people who work in the area and visitors who need a break from taking photos with the walls, but throughout the day expect to see families, couples, friends, and coworkers chowing down on our quesadillas, burritos and more.

What’s your favorite Wynwood spot to visit?

I like going to Panther for coffee and the bar that Alter has outside!
