Tell us a bit about your business – the concept, what you sell and what makes you unique.
Jastor connects companies with Millenials while implementing a 360° branding program. From strategy and identity to packaging, environmental design and digital; Jastor makes sure that every brand is an experience.
We develop brands for new and existing products and companies. Our specialty is to grow and evolve brands by developing innovative communication and design strategies for the continued commercial success of our clients.
Serving a variety of industries including restaurants, hospitality, real estate, retail, consumer packaged goods, and corporate. From startups to Fortune 500’s, for over 10 years we have helped companies create strong brands.
What makes Jastor unique is the fact that we do not just work with any client or product, our company’s success is based on the ability to only take assignments and projects that inspire us.
Our dedication to research and brand intelligence for every client is what differentiates us from other agencies. In our creative process, our team draws inspiration from films, books, nature, and culture. Inspiration is the engine for our business.
Why did you choose to open your business in Wynwood, as opposed to another Miami neighborhood?
Having colleagues in the neighborhood and finding inspiration on every wall were a few of the reasons why Wynwood was the perfect fit for Jastor to grow.
Being in the Arts District of Miami has given Jastor the opportunity to work with some of the most creative individuals, no other neighborhood in Miami could introduce us to the talent found in Wynwood.
What does a typical day at Jastor look like?
In reality, there is no typical day at Jastor. Normally, we do meetings in the morning and production work in the afternoon.
On an average day, we come to the office at 9:30 (because through the years we’ve discovered that advertising minds work better after this time). We start with coffee or David’s tea, have a quick meeting to recap the projects we are working on, and every now and then have a little informal chat about music or film (we are all Star Wars and Netflix geeks). We each go to our respective “battle stations”, and reunite when we want to share an important idea. Our space is open and collaborative.
Our days are unique and every week is fresh. That is the beauty of working in a creative agency, no day is ever the same. Typically, we work on an array of projects that range from market research to designing a client’s Brand Book. One of Jastor’s unique attributes is the fact that we provide every client with a brand “bible”, the Brand Book. From having lunch at our client’s restaurants to having brainstorm meetings and client meetings, our days are filled with innovative ideas and a lot of Illustrator, of course.
What’s your favorite Wynwood spot to visit?
Jastor’s favorite Wynwood spot is definitely Wood Tavern. Our founder Jason Torres and Cesar Morales, the founder of Wood Tavern are friends since Cesar’s days in the printing business and the story of how Wood Tavern came to be is one of our favorites. Cesar Morales started a local gallery in the same location where Tavern is now. Unfortunately, Cesar found himself not being able to sell any paintings but people were stopping by for the free beer and wine distributed during the gallery’s open hours. After a month of giving the gallery a try, Cesar decided to reinvent his dream into a bar. Years later, Wood Tavern is one of the most successful and known bars in the city. Through the years Jastor has had the pleasure of working alongside Cesar a few times and contributed to helping make Wood Tavern a reality.
