Italia Independent puts its own twist on Italian style icons. Our eyewear and lifestyle brand located in the Wynwood Block incorporates design and technological innovations from a wide range of industries. Our iconic product is the velvet sunglasses, which features a technique inspired by the luxury automotive world. Our desire is to export Italian style across the world.
Why did you choose to open your business in Wynwood, as opposed to another Miami neighborhood?
Wynwood’s unique atmosphere provides the perfect home for a brand focused on independent, free expression and creativity. The abundant artwork and vibrant neighborhood attracted us from the start. We wanted to be part of this community of creative professionals and were confident in the neighborhood’s potential to be one of Miami’s most influential areas.
What does a typical day at Italia Independent look like?
A typical day at the store involves us helping customers choose the perfect pair of frames from the wide variety of styles we offer. Our goal is always to provide customers with a warm, personalized experience that will have them leaving with new high-quality, cutting edge frames.
What’s your favorite Wynwood spot to visit?
We have so many favorites! We love to grab a coffee at Panther Coffee and enjoy brunch at Morgans. We also love the happy hour specials at GK Bistronomie!
