Each month, we spotlight a few members of the Wynwood business community to share their unique story and concept. In this profile, we asked the team behind Haber Law to tell us more about the law firm’s move from Downtown to Wynwood.

Tell us a bit about your business – the concept, what you sell and what makes you unique.

Haber Law is an 11-attorney boutique law firm that focuses on construction law, including design and construction defects litigation, complex business litigation, condominium and homeowners association law, and all aspects of real estate law. Our firm’s evolution has been paved by an unwavering allegiance to our core values – integrity, service, dedication, innovation, diversity, and success.  We abide by our straightforward mission statement: Integrity and commitment to our work, our clients, and the community at large.

Why did you choose to open your business in Wynwood, as opposed to another Miami neighborhood?

Our firm has a unique approach to the practice of law and to the concept of corporate and employee wellness. Our move to Wynwood and the amazing space we have created is consistent with that vision. Wynwood is a place where art and culture meet business.  We wanted to be situated right in the heart of that unique intersection.

My personal commitment to the arts is reflected in the building and our firm’s charitable giving. I believe that art is a medium which allows people to transform, to bridge cultural and ethnic divisions, and to promote understanding and compassion for others. The arts bring people together and create a human connection. Wynwood brings people together in that same way.

What does a typical day at Haber Law look like?

Well, the days of coming to work in suits are over. Our employees wear comfortable clothes, and, so long as attorneys have court attire if they are summoned unexpectedly, we want our staff to feel at home here, starting with what they wear. Though our days typically start at 8:30/9:00 a.m. and go to 6:30/7:00 p.m., we are open to flexible hours and work with employees that have families (or are planning families) in order to create a schedule that works for both them and the firm. We leverage the latest technology so that our attorneys can work in the office or from home.

On Thursdays, we have our licensed massage therapist set up shop in our in-office gym and offer massages to staff. Employees can use the gym before work, at lunch or at night, and they love the Peloton!

We work hard, no mistake about it, but we also have a very relaxed, collegial atmosphere.

What’s your favorite Wynwood spot to visit?

We like to take coffee breaks and walk to Panther Coffee or Joe and the Juice, then come back refreshed and ready to work. We bring in sweets from the various amazing bakeries–there is a healthy ongoing competition between The Salty Donut, Fireman Derek’s and Zak the Baker!
