Tell us a bit about your business – the concept, what you sell and what makes you unique.
Britto Charette is a licensed and award-winning interior design firm, founded in 2010 by Jay Britto and David Charette. Our studio is headquartered in Wynwood, Miami’s most vibrant neighborhood, and it’s where our dedicated designers make magic happen: bespoke creations for people who truly value great design. With a global reach and an impressive international portfolio, our firm specializes in luxury residential homes as well as commercial, hospitality, and condominium buildings.
What sets us apart? Our turnkey design business includes custom furniture and handcrafted accessories. We’re also committed to using the latest technologies and materials to achieve the best cutting-edge designs for our clients.

Why did you choose to open your business in Wynwood, as opposed to another Miami neighborhood?
We’re designers so we look to our environment for inspiration. Once we began walking around Wynwood, we new it was the perfect spot for inspiration. We were really strategic about our move from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami–we wanted a vibrant and diverse area and we also wanted foot traffic and visibility–all things we get by being in our Wynwood location.
What does a typical day at Britto Charette look like?
It’s busy. It’s active. It’s fun. It’s never dull or ordinary. Aside from the typical phone calls, client meetings, installations, lunch&learn opportunities, and vendor meetings we also take time to have fun. We have an open floor plan so we do a lot of talking/sharing/brainstorming as a team. And every afternoon we have coffee together–thanks to Yulian who insists on making only the “good stuff” for us. We’re open from 9-6:00 so we need those little breaks. Also, our dog and social guru, Kylo, greets everyone who comes in the door. We love being street level in Wynwood–there’s so much to see from our windows. It’s entertaining and we love it when people stop by just to say hi or to look at our porcelains and furniture.
What’s your favorite Wynwood spot to visit?
Our entire team loves KYU restaurant and we have even featured it on our blog. The food is incredible and the service is great. It’s just consistently fantastic which means we can take our clients and out-of-town guests to KYU and know that they will be happy.
