The entrance to Barter Wynwood is more covert than other storefronts.
Barter Wynwood
Each month, we spotlight members of the Wynwood business community to share their unique story and concept. In this profile, we asked the team behind Barter Wynwood to tell us more about the venue’s unique strategy of trading items for food and drink credits.
Business address: 255 NW 27th Terrace, Miami, FL 33127
Tell us a bit about your business – the concept, what you sell and what makes you unique.
Barter Wynwood has a laid back atmosphere where you can can eat delicious Latin cuisine cooked over a wood fire grill, imbibe in craft cocktails or admire our collection of vintage items, which we are always looking to trade with you if you have something that tickles our fancy.
Why did you choose to open your business in Wynwood, as opposed to another Miami neighborhood?
We have been a part of the Wynwood neighborhood in one way or another for nearly a decade. The art and creativity throughout the city continues to inspire us every time we are here. The opportunity to be a part of this community and create something we are truly excited about made it an easy decision.
What does a typical day at Barter Wynwood look like?
The outside features hand made wood furniture with a burnt finish and a mix of vintage chairs, plants and bird cages filled with classic phones and audio players. The inside features a bird cage roof and pipe shelving filled with antiques and retro gear. Theatrical lighting illuminates key pieces and casts
birdcage shadows across the room.
What’s your favorite Wynwood spot to visit?
One of our favorite places is Boxelder, right by us. They always have an outstanding selection of beer on hand and with surprise food pop ups happening all the time you can eat some pretty delicious food. From burgers to yakitori, its where we are when we are not at Barter.
