Sven Vogtland

BID Board Member

Born in Florida and of Jamaican-German descent, Sven Vogtland comes from an impressive food and beverage background, with extensive operational experience in the hospitality industry. Most recently, Vogtland has created and operated both the Coyo Taco and 1-800-Lucky brands. Vogtland and partners first opened Coyo Taco in Wynwood in 2015 and have subsequently opened six additional locations, nationally and internationally, with plans to continue expanding. Vogtland and partners opened 1-800-Lucky, the first food hall in Miami, in 2017 which quickly rose to the top – winning Best Bar in the Miami New Times Reader’s Choice Awards in 2018 and Best Food Hall in 2019.

Vogtland began his career at the revered Le Cordon Bleu Hotel Management school and was then recruited into the Ritz-Carlton hotel group. He went on to take a position at Miami’s Setai Hotel, as Director of Restaurants, playing a key role in securing the prestigious accolade, AAA 5 Diamond status. Before branching off and starting his own brands, Vogtland acted as Creative Director for the Bardot and Gigi group and was acting F&B director for Barton G & Versace Mansion. Throughout his career, Vogtland has directed and managed all aspects of nightlife and entertainment, curating events with world-class artists through relationships he has built after years of working in the music and hospitality industry.
