
Oliver Gross
BID Board Member
Oliver L. Gross is the President of New Urban Development, LLC (NUD), the real estate development affiliate of the Urban League of Greater Miami. In this role, he oversees the acquisition, development, construction oversight, financing, and property management of all NUD projects. Under his leadership, the organization has developed more than 1,300 affordable housing units, representing over $300 million in investment throughout Miami-Dade County. With an additional 1,000 units in the pipeline, NUD is projected to generate another $600 million in future investments.
Mr. Gross brings decades of experience as a real estate developer, commercial banker, and public administrator. He is deeply committed to equitable urban development and is a strong advocate of the philosophy “Mitigation of Gentrification by Participation in Transformation,” a core value guiding all NUD initiatives. He works closely with stakeholders to ensure that revitalization efforts include and benefit long-standing community members.
He previously worked as a commercial real estate lender and CDFI small business lender and serves in numerous leadership roles, including Chair of the 79th Street Corridor Community Redevelopment Agency and the 79th Street Corridor Neighborhood Initiative. He also served as Board Chair of PLACE, Inc., a national organization affiliated with the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC), and is a founding member and former Board Chair of the South Florida Community Development Coalition.
Mr. Gross holds a BBA from Florida A&M University and earned a Master of Science in Social Administration from Case Western Reserve University’s Mandel School, where he was awarded the prestigious Louis Stokes Fellowship. He is certified as a Real Estate Development Professional and a U.S. HUD Certified Occupancy Specialist. In 2012, he completed the 18-month Achieving Excellence Executive Training Program at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, one of the most rigorous programs for public sector leaders in the nation.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Gross is also active in faith-based community work and serves as an ordained Elder at the Church of God Tabernacle (True Holiness). His career reflects a lifelong dedication to inclusive growth, neighborhood revitalization, and empowering underserved communities through thoughtful and mission-aligned development.
